APAs in Public Service Event

For my folks in New York, hope you can come through to this event I’m organizing with the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) — the nation’s only pan-Asian children’s rights advocacy org —  and with my buds and alma mater Asian Pacific American Student Alliance (APASA) at NYU Wagner.

We’ll have a bunch of great panelists sharing their experiences working in and for the community, including NYC Council Member Margaret Chin — the FIRST! Asian American elected official to represent Chinatown and the Lower East Side. And it’s free! With wine and snacks! See you there!

Are you a student or mid-career professional interested in working in the non-profit or public sector? API panelists in a variety of public service professions — such as nonprofit management, elected office, and philanthropy — will discuss their careers and unique experiences of being API in these fields. Followed by a networking reception and opportunity to talk with the panelists.

Featured speakers:

  • Margaret Chin, New York City Council Member, District 1
  • Steven Choi, Executive Director of YKASEC/Minkwon Community Action Center
  • C.K. Chung, Senior Account Manager, NYC Business Solutions, Seedco
  • Anita Gundanna, Fund for Social Change

6:30 to 8:30 pm

Puck Building 2nd floor
