Seriously. Slow down. The book came out in ’63. You have time. I’m sure you let out a groan when you found out the movie was coming out. Then you sighed in relief when you found out Spike Jonze was directing the Dave Eggers screenplay (if you were white). And you got all excited when you found out the Maurice Sendak exhibit was on loan from the Rosenbach in Philly to the SF Jewish Contemporary Museum. You can even buy Dave Egger’s book, The Wild Things, an expansion of Sendak’s book. Get the limited fur covered version straight from McSweeney’s for all I care. But please, feel free to check out Opening Ceremony’s new Where the Wild Things Are collection at their SoHo store, but DO NOT drop $610 for the costume. I beg you.
