Zero Fade. zēē • rô • feyd. noun or adj.
noun. A male with a hair cut that involved the use of clippers set to “zero”. No attachments (typically numbers 1-12) are used to lessen the amount of hair cut by the clipper blades. Not to be confused with #1/2, which is when the clipper blade is switched to cut at #1/2 length. Also not to be confused with a “Bic”, which is a term used to describe a hair cut with a Bic razor (originated from the California Penal System).
“Dude, check out that zero fade that just walked by, it looks like he’s heading to:
- that table in the VIP section with all those Grey Goose bottles.
- that lime green Suzuki GSX-R with that skinny 14-year old girl wearing Daisy Dukes.
- that Armani Exchange store.”
adjective. Term used to describe a person with a zero fade, a location filled with people that have zero fades, or a friend that’s acting like he has a zero fade.
“The [zero fade] dude stepping out of his Silver Lexus IS 250 is going to a [zero fade club] Synergy Promotions party at Boss nightclub and if you wanna go with him Ryan, then you’re being hella [zero fade] douchey.”
The term “zero fade” should not be confused with the term AZN, as the distinguishing characteristic of a “zero fade” is the actual hair cut. A “zero fade” is probably an AZN, but an AZN is not always necessarily a “zero fade”.
On a side note, did y’all know that Wahl has a line of “ethnic” clippers designed specifically for my nappy headed brothas, sistahs and Sherdizzle?
